Is it more expensive than stick framing?

Up front, usually yes. Over the life of the building — energy, insurance, maintenance, durability — the math changes. We'll show you both sides honestly and let you decide.

What does it cost?

We won't print a price per square foot, because we build according to the project's specifications and they price differently:

ICF shell only — we build the walls and floor/roof; your builder takes it from there.

Full custom build — we carry the whole project.

A number on a web page can't account for your lot, your soil, your span, your finishes or your scope. What we'll do instead is sit down with you, walk through which of the two fits your project, and give you a real figure you can take to a lender.

How long does it take?

The ICF and footing portion runs about two weeks to two months, depending on how many levels of wall are involved and whether Quad-Deck is in the design. A full custom build averages seven to nine months. Concrete has a schedule of its own and we plan around it rather than fighting it.

Does it look like a concrete bunker?

No. Once finished it's indistinguishable from any custom home — brick, stone, stucco, siding, whatever the design calls for. The difference is inside the wall.

Can we do a safe room in an existing house?

Often, yes. It depends on the structure and the space. Worth a conversation.

Is a safe room “FEMA-approved”?

We design and build to the FEMA P-320 and P-361 guidelines. FEMA does not approve, certify or endorse safe rooms, builders or products.

Do you work with other builders?

If you're carrying the project and you need the foundation done right, we work as the wall subcontractor.

What that looks like: we handle layout, forms, reinforcement placement, bracing, and the pour. You get an insulated, inspected, ready-to-build-on wall on your schedule — and one subcontractor instead of a foundation crew plus an insulation crew plus a coordination problem.

Where do you build?

North Alabama is home — Huntsville, Madison, Decatur, Athens, the lake communities and the surrounding counties. We take select projects beyond that.
